Marcel Thull
Entry UX & UI Designer
My name is Marcel and I'm a Junior UX & UI Designer, however that is only my recent occupation.
I was active as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Coach helping People in all Age-groups reaching their goals and motivated them to become a better versions of themself.
In that regard I see a lot of cross-points between a User-Experience Designer and a Coach by giving small advices to continuously improve step by step and shaping a better tomorrow.
My motto is "Blood, Sweat, Respect".
Blood stands for the life you put in the Projects. Sweat represents the energy you give to continuously improve on the subjects. Respect is the base that should be given, beeing mindful of Peoples situations and listening to the problems they bring to you.

Changing Path
As the global landscape stabilized and the fitness industry reopened, I found myself at a crossroads. While the opportunity to return to full-time coaching was there, I realized my passion for the IT sector had never truly faded. With a fresh perspective and renewed motivation, I decided to re-enter the digital space.
My previous roles had already laid a strong administrative foundation; I had managed digital operations, social media and
B2B relations for gyms and handled business management for the bar. These experiences bridged the gap between physical service and digital management.
After researching various specializations, I chose to pursue UX/UI Design. It is a field that perfectly aligns with my background: it requires the empathy of a coach, the communication of a manager, and the technical logic of an IT professional.
The path of Coaching
As a recent graduate, I balanced my career as a part-time Fitness Instructor and a freelance Personal Coach. I thrived in this dual role until the global pandemic reached Europe, forcing the fitness industry, along with many others, to shutter its doors. As discretionary spending tightened, the demand for personal coaching declined sharply.
To adapt, I transitioned into a role at a local establishment, "The Flying Dutchman." While seemingly a departure from my field, working in hospitality was a masterclass in communication. It allowed me to sharpen my interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, both of which have proven to be invaluable assets in my professional life since.
Beginning
Since childhood, I have been immersed in the world of athletics. Being born into a family of coaches, my initial path seemed predetermined: I was to become a coach myself. However, during my school years, I developed a strong affinity for IT and electronics. This spark led me to pursue an initial education in IT, seeking a stable and future-proof career path.
Unexpectedly, circumstances shifted, leading me to pivot back to my roots. I ultimately completed my formal education in Sports and Health, blending my disciplined upbringing with professional certification.
